Dive Master Insurance Consultants originated from the current Managing Director Bob Archell’s experience in using SCUBA professionally in his early insurance career as a Marine Loss Investigator.

Bob started working for a Lloyd’s insurance syndicate in 1968. Now retired from active marine loss investigations he devotes all his experience into developing the best possible range of insurance products currently available for recreational divers and the recreational dive trade.

On the 1st June 1987 Dive Master Insurance Consultants commenced its business as an independent insurance provider to recreational divers in the UK and early on we innovated many new insurance products for the developing recreational sports diver market and associated dive trade.

Dive Master Insurance Consultants affectionately known to divers world wide as simply “Dive Master” was incorporated into a limited company in 1991 and now Bob and his wife Sue Archell head up the company with a further two co-directors and a staff of seven people.

Dive Master has grown over the years but maintains its independence by providing dive associations with products and non association backed insurance products to all aspects of the recreational dive trade.

The company is probably the largest independent provider of recreational dive related insurance in the world, and acts as Underwriting Managers for certain insurers based in Lloyd’s and Company markets in London.

Our first twenty years of business has been built on our reputation for reliability and integrity, and a partner for the dive trade to rely on and respected by sports divers worldwide.
