Baggage Increase

The maximum limit that may be claimed for each item of baggage and dive equipment on both the “Standard” and “Premium” options is £400, but this limit is increased to £600 per item by selecting this option. However if this limit is insufficient we do offer an annual dive equipment insurance policy that allows you to insure dive equipment for its full replacement value.

Independent Itinerary Failure

This coverage offers the financial protection that you would normally receive if you make a holiday or trip booking with a reputable Tour Operator. Most standard travel insurance policies only cover holidays booked as a package with a Tour Operator (which in turn will probably be protected by an ATOL scheme), and do not cover the failure of independently booked travel itineraries. Clearly this may leave holidaymakers who purchase the elements of their holiday separately (flights, accommodation, vehicle hire and other holiday activities) exposed to a financial loss, should an element that they have booked fails.

An example would be: if a hotel that you have booked with directly goes bankrupt is damaged or destroyed by fire or adverse weather before you travel, then you may be unable to reclaim the cost of your booking or claim for the cancellation of other travel expenses that you incurred such as flights.

If you independently book your own holidays then we would recommend you select this option when applying for the Annual Multi Trip insurance.

Excess Waiver

The Policy excess for each and every claim will be waived. Full details can be found within the policy wording.

Cover For Travel Disruption

Provided that you have selected the Travel Disruption Cover option and paid the appropriate additional premium, the Policy will extend to include coverage for claims directly or indirectly caused by civil unrest including riots, organised protests, arson and looting. Coverage will also extend to claims directly or indirectly caused by Volcanic Eruptions, Ash Clouds, Earthquakes, Landslides, Floods, Tsunamis, atypical cyclonic storms or any other extraordinary natural phenomenon. Full details can be found within the policy wording.
